Description

3.1 To further the education of the public in the history and heritage of Dunfermline and surrounding district. demonstrating its local, national and international significance to audiences of all ages, backgrounds and knowledge levels. 3.2 To promote enjoyment of our local and national heritage and advance the understanding and appreciation of that heritage by building an awareness of past historical events and demonstrating the significance of these events to the public. 3.3 To undertake research, exhibitions, displays and educational activities through which the importance of Dunfermline as a city of royalty, religion and government can be demonstrated. 3.4 To work with other organisations, both locally and nationally, to develop the heritage aspects of Dunfermline and the surrounding district, so that people gain an appreciation of the value and significance of Dunfermline’s heritage. 3.5 To advance development of the community of Dunfermline and its environs by providing opportunities for volunteering within a heritage or heritage-related context.
