The organisation's purposes are to promote the benefits of women in North East Edinburgh and environs without distinction on the grounds of political, religious or other opinions, or on the grounds of race or sexual orientation, by associating local women in a common effort to: 4.1 The advancement of women's education by providing advice, information sessions, courses and learning opportunities. 4.2 The advancement of health by providing services which seek to promote women's health and wellbeing including. suitably themed organised activities, health specific courses, emotional support services for women. 4.3 The advancement of citizenship and community development by involving women in the development of the organisation and local consultations. 4.4 The organisation of recreational activities to improve the condition of life for women by providing a range of social activities which aim to reduce social isolation. 4.5 The relief of women in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, through a combination of the above services and activities.
