Description
The Objects of the Company are to promote, so far as each is a charitable purpose, the well being of older people by: 3.1.1 working to prevent or relieve poverty among older people. 3.1.2 advancing education. 3.1.3 working to prevent or relieve sickness, disease or suffering in older people (whether emotional, mental or physical). 3.1.4 promoting equality and diversity. 3.1.5 promoting the human rights of older people. 3.1.6 assisting older people in need by reason of ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage. 3.1.7 pursuing such other charitable purposes for the benefit of older people as the Trustees may from time to time decide and for the purposes of this clause: (1) the expression 'older people' shall be interpreted by the Trustees so as to ensure that the assets of the Company are applied for charitable purposes only and in accordance with any guidance issued by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator from time to time. and (2) 'charitable purpose' shall mean a charitable purpose under Section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 which is also regarded as a charitable purpose in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts.
