Description
(1) To preserve and protect the health of, and relieve suffering and distress amongst, people and animals who are stranded by way of an accident and/or are otherwise inaccessible in high, confined or difficult to reach areas by the provision (at the request of the police, emergency services or other agencies) of practical assistance, support and equipment made available for technical line rescue (2) To carry out risk assessments, in the interests of the general public, in relation to hazards associated with working environments, or other places to which people may have or may gain access (either on a regular basis or in the context of a specific event or a particular occasion), which are in high, confined or difficult to reach areas (3) To promote public safety in the interests of the general public, and with particular reference to hazards of the nature referred to in the preceding paragraph (4) To promote education and training, particularly in relation to fields which are relevant to the matters referred to above.
