Description
The Trustees shall hold the Trust Funds after mentioned for such charitable purposes only as are in the opinion of the Trustees, primarily but not necessarily exclusively, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Scotland hereinafter referred to as 'The Community.' Without prejudice to the foregoing generality or the Trustees' discretionary powers that the said charitable purposes may include all or any of the following purposes, viz: (i) The advancement of the education of the public in Scotland generally and in particular the advancement of the education of persons with special needs in Scotland. (ii) The relief of poverty in Scotland generally and for other purposes beneficial to the community not falling under other heads of charity. (iii) The provision and improvement of any library, museum, gallery, public hall (or an other building), recreation ground or great park for the benefit of the community.(iv) The preservation and conservation of sites, buildings or lands of architectural merit, historic importance or natural beauty for the benefit of the community. (v) The preservation and protection of the environment. For the public benefit by seeking to reduce waste and land-fill through the refurbishment, repair and recycling of furniture and equipment which would otherwise be disposed of. Where possible such refurbishment will be carried out as a job creation scheme. (vi) The furtherance of the charitable purposes of other recognised/registered charitable organisations by acting as a resource in the provision of facilities, management or other services for which agreed charges will be made.
