Description
Purposes To relieve the needs of young offenders and ex-prisoners ( aged 18 years and over) within Northern Ireland and assist in the rehabilitation and reintegration into wider society of those leaving the prison system/ the criminal justice system, by encouraging them to develop spiritually, emotionally and mentally and to make positive life choices, reducing their likelihood of reoffending. To promote the development and improvement of young offenders and ex-prisoners leaving the prison system/ criminal justice system by providing support, mentoring, accommodation and training, with the object of improving the conditions of life for said persons, enabling them to develop their full potential and in particular: to provide supported housing to those in need of such arrangements due to their social and economic circumstances which will help support their transition from the criminal justice system into wider society, and to assist their progression to their own tenancy; to provide individual support which encourages ex-offenders to make positive choices in life which will help them not reoffend and prevent further crimes. To help young people engage in purposeful activity and enter into training and provide a pathway to employment again helping reduce the risk of reoffending.
