Description

(a) to promote the benefit of women residing in the leeds 7, 8 and 9 postal districts (as they exist at the date of incorporation hereof) (hereinafter called "the area of benefit") without distinction as to political, religious or other beliefs by advancing the education and vocational training of untrained women and also by providing facilitation, in the inters of social welfare, for recreation and leisure-time occupation of the said women with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said women and, in particular to provide such facilities to those in need thereof by reason of their youth, age, disablement, infirmity or social and economic circumstances. (b) the relief of poverty and the protection of the health of women residing in the area of benefit and in particular by providing advice and guidance concerning health and legal and social welfare rights. (c) to advance and promote the education of women residing in the area of benefit concerning good citizenship in a multi-racial society and the intellectual artistic an economic and cultural background of the said women.
