Description
7.1 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes and will do so underpinned by Christian values, by operating as a 'grant giving' charity which will support financially and otherwise charities, community groups and others which charitably further the purposes detailed at 7.2 and provide public benefit with a primary (but not exclusive) focus on the support of organisations which are concerned with the promotion of the Kingdom of God and the spread of Christianity throughout the world, the support of environmental protection and improvement (on topics and issues such as flooding and climate change), medical research into the causes and treatment of cancer and heart and chest related diseases, support of the arts and heritage, promotion of animal welfare and support to those who would benefit from opportunities they have not had due to social or economic circumstances. 7.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are (i) particularly relevant and (ii) are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 7.2.1 the advancement of religion. 7.2.2 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement. 7.2 .3 the advancement of health. 7.2.4 the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 7.2.5 the advancement of animal welfare. and 7.2.6 the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science.
