Description
To advance citizenship and community development in the Garve and District Community Council (GDCC) area by: (a) Developing the digital capability of the community through widening and deepening effective and affordable access to the internet for every household via satellite, wireless and fibre broadband. (b) Providing public access to the internet in our public buildings via wireless or fibre broadband. (c) Enabling members of the community, through community-based volunteer training where necessary, to connect with others outside the community in order to (1) develop on-line social interaction with family and friends (2) reduce household costs eg on shopping, energy and travel (3) improve access to health and social services, and other public sector services (4) take advantage of greater and more cost effective access to training and distance learning (d) Enabling members of the community, through community-based volunteer training where necessary, to connect with others within the community to increase social interaction with one another and to improve communication about and participation in local events
