3.1 The Charity's objects ('Objects') are specifically restricted to the following: 3.1.1 To assist people who are serving or who have served in the British armed forces, including UK merchant seafaring veterans, and their dependants by advancing any lawful charitable purpose at the discretion of the trustees and in particular, but not exclusively, to make grants to other charities who assist serving and former members of the armed forces and their dependants who are in need. Nothing in the articles shall authorise an application of the property of the Charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and/or section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
