Description

The objects of the CIO are: (1) to advance in life and help disadvantaged communities of people in sub-Saharan Africa through: a. advancing education through promoting the sustainable use of Information and Communications Technologies and other educational and vocational resources. b. providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals. c. relieving unemployment for the public benefit in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment. (2) the relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life in economically disadvantaged communities in sub-Saharan Africa, by the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration. (3) to support the local community of volunteers in the UK or elsewhere, including the provision of skills and training in environmentally sustainable practices in reusing and refurbishing Information and Communications Technology equipment and contributing to a reduction in society’s consumption and associated carbon emissions.
