Description
7.1 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes through the organisation and provision of activities (including sporting and cultural activities), services (including education and development sessions) and facilities (including the provision and encouragement of accessible and attractive places to meet, socialise, create and work consistent with the SCIO?s understanding and awareness aims) which will enhance understanding and awareness of disability issues with a view to encouraging changes in attitudes and approaches in society as well as developments in physical premises of educational establishments, commercial businesses and other organisations in the public, private and third sectors. 7.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are particularly relevant and for the purposes of the 2005 Act are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 7.2.1 the relief of those in need by reason of disability. and 7.2.2 the advancement of education (in respect of understanding disability issues).
