Description
1. The objects for which the Trust is established are the promotion of science and education, for the benefit of the local communities living and working within the area of the Moray Firth (whether sea, river or land) and the public generally to advance the education of those local communities in particular and the public as a whole in the wise and sustainable use and conservation of the coastal, environmental and natural heritage of the Moray Firth (and where it has an impact on the foregoing) the land and sea surrounding the Moray Firth (For the purposes of this article, the 'Moray Firth' will encompass the maritime area of the Moray Firth and the adjacent lands, estuaries, firths, feeder rivers and water courses between Rattery Head in Aberdeenshire and Duncansby Head in Caithness). 2. The advancement of environmental protection and improvement, including the promotion of sustainable development, which is defined by the 1987 United Nations Bruntland Commission report 'Our Common Future' as 'development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs'. 3. Promote environmental education opportunities to extend awareness and understanding of issues related to the Principle Objective. 4. The advancement of education. 5. The advancement of the arts, heritage culture and/or science.
