Maisha: Foundation hopes to eventually create a residential school where children will receive an education, healthy diet and peer support. Strong links have already been established with local residential high schools to then allow children to advance their education further. Informal adult learning will also underpin most of the activities which will be developed at the community centre. The advancement of health by developing an outreach programme to ensure families have access to nutritious meals and food sources. Furthermore, through collaborative partnership working with local government agencies and voluntary organisations, Maisha: Foundation intends to support local people with their basic health care needs. We can provide health care checks, and assistance with referrals, in addition to helping with travel costs and medical bills. This would be greatly beneficial for the children we currently work with who suffer from HIV, and various levels of disability.
