- The organisation’s purposes are to use our collective experiences, abilities, skills, commitment and energies to reduce offending and reoffending in Scotland and to help build safer communities, to include: 4.1 the promotion of rehabilitation of those who have served a custodial sentence, including the provision of information, support and advice, with the object of improving the conditions of life of those in need. 4.2 the ongoing support and mentoring of people with convictions during their sentence as well as after release in order to break down barriers and assist with reintegration by offering practical advice, support, information in relation to housing, education, and employability providing positive encouragement of citizenship. 4.3 providing training to the people with convictions to advance their education and increase their employability thereby reducing unemployment. 4.4 advancing the human rights of prisoners by ensuring they are treated fairly and have adequate living conditions during their imprisonment and beyond. 4.5 promoting equality and diversity by working towards the equal and fair treatment of prisoners and people with convictions through the activities such as campaigning and representing and ensuring a brighter and successful future.
