Description
(a) To educate and inform individuals, organisations, associations, and any other relevant bodies about issues of poverty, locally, nationally and internationally. and issues associated with poverty, including, but not limited to, housing, hunger, curable diseases, HIV/Aids, employment, benefits, social security, education, health, gender equality, discrimination, law, public policy, international development, aid, debt relief, international institutions. (b) To work directly with individuals, groups and organisations to improve and develop their skills, knowledge, confidence, abilities and life chances. To develop, implement and support projects and discrete work by the Trust, its officers, members and other associated individuals and groups, and to work jointly and collaboratively with other individuals, organisations, associations and other bodies as need be. (c) To work with other individuals, groups, organisations, bodies and associations, locally, nationally and internationally on issues of poverty and issues associated with poverty. (d) To promote equal opportunities for all regardless of race, religion, gender, orientation, disability, age, socio economic status, nationality and asylum status and to empower people to overcome discrimination and marginalisation. To support and develop the growth of individuals and groups who have faced current or historical disadvantage, through the work of the Trust. (e) To engage with public bodies, the media, business, social groups, trade unions, governments and other relevant bodies, associations and organisations to promote the work of the Trust and the issues on which it works. (f) To carry out any other work, from time to time, that the Trust, through its officers, members and supporters, deems appropriate.
