Description

(b) To prevent or relief poverty by empowering African people to participate in the social and economic development of their country of origin and Scotland , and encourage African people in Scotland to initiate and actively engage in economic projects aimed at achieving self reliance, self employment with a view to break the inherent poverty trap within which they happen to find themselves in by virtue of their status in society. (c) To advance citizenship and community development by liaising with councils and organisations to organise environmental projects, create and promote relationships between Edea and Scottish local councils and towns, collect clean up equipment for Edea local councils, provide citizenship training, and promote and organise integration conferences, events and seminars. (d) To advance art, heritage, culture and sciences by providing traditional African dancing classes, organise artistic and African cultural events, promote sciences researches within African community in Scotland and Edea. (e) To advance public participation in sport by organising football, basketball, handball, volleyball, wrestling, judo , athletic events, develop these sports activities and health campaigns in different communities, and promote partnerships between Edea and Scottish sport institutions and teams. (f) To relief those in need by reason of, ill-health , disability, and financial hardship or other disadvantage by providing training and assistance for those who are disadvantaged to enable them to develop skills needed for employment.
