“The objectives of the bands (that is, Coalburn Silver Band, Coalburn Intermediate Band and Coalburn Bronze Band) and the Coalburn Percussion Academy shall be to advance the education of the band members and the public of South Lanarkshire and the surrounding areas in the art of music and in particular brass band music by the presentation of public performances and other related activities.”
