Description
The Company shall be established for charitable purposes (as defined in section 106 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 or any subsequent re-enactment thereon) only. declaring without prejudice to the foregoing generality that the Company may apply the assets exclusively for the following charitable purposes, namely: (a) the advancement of the arts, heritage and culture. and (b) the advancement of education. all through (one) the preservation, restoration conservation and/or display, for the public benefit, heritage and other items (including without limitation land, buildings , machinery, equipment, furniture, ornaments, books, memorabilia and other artefacts) of historical, social , architectural or engineering value in connection with lighthouses and other marine aids to navigation in Scotland and the Isle of Man and with the foundation and history of the Northern Lighthouse Board and those persons associated with the Northern Lighthouse Board and connected purposes (hereinafter referred to as 'Lighthouse Heritage') and (two) the advancement of the education of the public in the history and development of Lighthouse Heritage.
