The objects for which the Company is established are:- For the public benefit in the Shetland Islands:- a) to promote the advancement, improvement and protection of the environment by providing and environmental facility and nature reserve for the people of Shetland and visitors to Shetland by the careful development ans subsequent maintenance of land in and around Sand on west mainland Shetland. b) to promote and advance the education and study of all forms of nature in and around Sand on west mainland Shetland by the creation and subsequent maintenance of gardens, collections of plants, an arboretum and other facilities. c) to promot, preserve and protect all things which are seen to be part of the Shetland way of life, its natural resources and its flora and fauna in particular, but not exclusively, in ways that favour biodiversity.
