Description
To advance the religion of Islam in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, for the benefit of the public, in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and his Household. In furtherance thereof but not otherwise the association shall seek: (a) To organise a committed project to establish links between the Edinburgh Muslim Community and society at large, to enlighten others about the teachings of Islam. (b) To provide a place of gathering for lectures, religious, cultural and educational programs. With emphasis on these being delivered in the English language, so as to keep the programs accessible to the general public, the converted/Scottish Muslim community and the youth of the established Muslim community. (c) To provide support, practical assistance, counselling and education for the community of people who have converted to the religion of Islam (which includes Scottish Muslims), Muslim Men, Women, youth and children. (d) To provide support, practical assistance and counselling for the immigrant, refugee and converted muslim individuals and families either living in or corning to live in Edinburgh and Scotland, and to aid their integration into society.
