3.2.1 To promote and encourage for the benefit of the public and as a community objective the provision of railway transport in the Borders. 3.2.2 To advance the education of the public by raising awareness of and promoting the benefit to the community of railway transport as part of a sustainable and accessible transport system in the Borders, including in particular the following benefits: the relief of persons living in necessitous circumstances, the protection of the environment, the conservation of energy resources and 'the regeneration for the benefit of the public of the economy of the Borders. 3.2.3 To research, devise and facilitate innovative solutions to the provision of effective railway and other public transport systems in the Borders and elsewhere and in particular means whereby the community may participate in and benefit from the delivery and provision of such servIces.
