Description
The objects of the Company are:- (a) The advancement of citizenship or community development through urban regeneration and provision of rented housing and associated amenities on affordable terms within Scotland and to provide for the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage through the provision, construction, improvement and management of land and accommodation. (b) To undertake any activity allowed under Section 58 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 (as amended by the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 and SSI 2006/211 (Registered Social Landlords (Purposes or Objects) (Scotland) Order) which is charitable in terms of Section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investments (Scotland) Act 2005 including but not so as to do anything which is outwith the terms of Section 58:- (i) to help people live independently in the community by providing housing support services. (ii) to tack le homelessness and provide associated services. (iii) to provide services across tenures to promote the physical environmental and social regeneration of the areas in which the Company operates. (iv) to promote the sustainability of the communities in which the Company operates. (c) To carry on any other charitable purpose or objective which can be advantageously or conveniently carried on by the Company by way of an extension of or in association with the objects stated in Sub-Clause (a) or which may be calcula ted directly or indirectly to advance the said objects.
