Description
The Association is established for charitable objects and purposes only and in particular for the following purposes: 1. To alleviate poverty, hardship and distress amongst people with physical, sensory or mental disability and to promote their education, welfare and treatment and in particular but without prejudice to the foregoing generally throughout the Region of Lothian. All through the means of: (a) Providing on loan or hire electrically powered wheelchairs, scooters, manual wheelchairs or other aids to people who have limited mobility or disability for shopping and the use of any other facilities, particularly but not exclusively within the Region of Lothian. (b) The provision of information, training and education on all aspects of disability. (c) Encouraging and assisting the statutory authorities, retail outlets and other bodies who provide services in this field to meet the needs of the community. (d) Providing that a forum exists in the community where interested individuals, professional, statutory bodies, commercial bodies, voluntary organisations, charitable organisations and other services can meet and co-operate in the development of services in achieving the objects of the Association.
