Description
1 The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the relief of those in need by reason of disability or other disadvantage. In furtherance of this purpose the organisation aims to: 1.1 To provide a means of consultation and joint action among voluntary and statutory organisations concerned with the welfare of people with disabilities and of all ages. 1.2 to increase the understanding of the problems of disability and to encourage integration in its fullest sense between disabled and able-bodied members of the community. 1.3 to promote and encourage the provision and improvement of facilities and services and research. 1.4 to serve as a centre for collection and dissemination of information for those interested in the welfare of people with disabilities and 1.5 to focus attention on the needs and services available for able-bodied and people with disabilities by arranging and providing for the holding of exhibitions, meetings, lectures and classes.
