Description
The objects of the Club are - (1) To provide and maintain for the benefit of the general public a Museum wherein shall be exhibited relics of the Bard, his manuscripts and documents relating to his life and work, together with other treasures in the field of Scottish history, literature, art and music. (2) To provide prizes for School Competitions with a view to stimulating a more extensive study of the Poet's works. (3) To conserve the various relics of the Bard and documents relating to his life and work which have become the property of the Club, or may hereafter become its property by gift or purchase. (4) To exert its influence in stimulating the study of the Scottish Muse. and (5) To perpetuate the memory of the Immortal Bard, by celebrating the Anniversary of his birth by an Annual Dinner of the Members, or otherwise as the Club may from time to time determine.
