Description
The objects of the Institute as expressed in the Memorandum of Association are in the first place to take over the whole assets and liabilities of The Royal Sanitary Association of Scotland and The Scottish Institute of Environmental Health and in the second place to promote the advancement of health, hygiene and safety in all or any of their Branches, to take cognisance of health, safety and environmental legislation, to stimulate general interest in all questions connected with public health and safety, to disseminate knowledge regarding health, hygiene and safety for the benefit of the community at large, and to promote and maintain high standards of professional practice and conduct on the part of those engaged in the practice of environmental health and to do these things in all or any of the ways more particularly set forth in the powers contained in the Memorandum and in the ancillary objects.
