Description
The West Coast of Ross-shire (Mainland) Distress Fund (hereinafter referred to as 'the Fund') in trust for this alleviation of hardship of persons ordinarily resident in the said Parishes and for other purposes therein recognised by law as charitable and in particular but without prejudice to the foregoing generality:- (FIRST) For the payment of grants or the making of loans to crofters in necessitous circumstances, (ONE) in cases of hardship arising through the loss of animals or the failure of crops or damage caused by flood, storm or tempest or through any other cause. (TWO) in cases of hardship arising through old age or infirmity. (THREE) for or towards the provision or repair of buildings, implements and equipment of a permanent character. (FOUR) for or towards the improvement of stock or reclamation of land. and (FIVE) for or towards the provision of stock, seed or fertilisers. (SECOND) For the granting of assistance to or the provision of comforts for aged sick and infirm persons ordinarily resident in the said Parishes. (THIRD) For the provision of comforts for patients in hospitals situated in or serving the said Parishes. (FOURTH) For making grants or payment of fees to advance the education of or the obtaining of professional or other qualifications by person ordinarily resident in the said Parishes. and (FIFTH) For the payment of grants or making of loans for any charitable purposes which in the opinion of the Trustees is for the benefit of persons ordinarily resident in the said Parishes.
