Description
The Purposes of the youth club are: The Club is established to provide, maintain and promote facilities and activities of a social, educational, sports and recreational nature with the object of improving the conditions of life of children, young people and older people without distinction of sex, political, religious or other opinion. The above purpose is underpinned by the following objectives: to offer members a range of programmes, including social, educational and recreational and with particular emphasis on those activities which - encourage a healthy lifestyle, promote well-being and support and enhance the cultural traditions of St Marys Youth Club; to develop a partnership between young people and adults through the Club with support from their families and the surrounding community; to give members the opportunity to express their views and to participate in the planning and management of their own activities; to encourage members to make a positive contribution to their community through service to others; to support and develop the work of community and voluntary groups in charitable activity which seek to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit. Members of the Club together with youth workers and concerned adults from the local community shall be brought together by means of a Management Committee.
