Description
The companys objects (Objects) are specifically restricted to the following: to advance education, relieve sickness and suffering, promote, protect and preserve mental and physical health and wellbeing of people who are suffering from, or have suffered from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other related eating disorders and illnesses and to educate and support their families and carers in Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the area of benefit), without distinction of age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating with statutory authorities, service users, carers, healthcare providers and community and voluntary organisations in a common effort to advance education and relieve sickness with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said beneficiaries, and in particular: (a) to educate, train, assist, support and advise those persons who are presently caring for or who are intending to care for suffers of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other related eating disorders and mental illness in the New Maudley model and practice of care; (b) to relieve suffering and promote and protect the mental health of suffers of anorexia nervosa and other related eating disorders and mental health illnesses in the area of benefit through the provision of advocacy services, advise, support, training, information and practical advice and assistance, and psychological services and other therapeutic treatments; (c) to provide or secure the provision of a centre dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders in accordance with the New Maudley model providing psychological and therapeutic services on a out patient and day patient basis to suffers of eating disorders and associated support and training to the families and carers of suffers of such conditions; (d) to advance education and promote awareness amongst the general public and amongst statutory agencies, carers and healthcare providers in the area of benefit in relation to the New Maudley model and the prevention, management, effects and causes of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other related eating disorders and mental health illnesses in an effort to improve and promote the management, care and recovery of those undergoing or experiencing treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders; (e) to provide and foster an inclusive and mutually supportive forum for current and former suffers and the families, friends and carers of persons with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and other related eating disorders and mental illnesses; (f) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose relating to the care of suffers of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders as the directors may from time to time decide in accordance with the law of charity.
