Description
1. The main object of the Company is to ensure and foster the advancement of education and to further the aims and purposes of Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition in colleges, schools and other educational projects in Northern Ireland (hereinafter referred to as the Schools and defined under Article 1 of the Articles of Association of the Company)owned or operated by the Company in accordance with the religion and education philosophy of the Company as stated in the Edmund Rice Schools Trust Charter (hereinafter referred to as the Charter) appended hereto as Schedule 1. In furtherance to the foregoing main object, but not otherwise, the Company shall have the following subsidiary objects: 1.1 To secure through the Board of Governors of the Schools the development and implementation of the religion and education philosophy as stated in the Charter. 1.2 To ensure in the Schools the provision of education which caters for such aspects as the personal, physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, moral, emotional and aesthetic development of the students 1.3 To promote in the Schools particular care for those who are educationally disadvantaged 1.4 Generally to further the interests of Catholic education in Ireland and around the world.
