Description
The purposes of the Northern Ireland Women in Fisheries group are to: To promote the benefit of fishing and aquaculture communities in Northern Ireland and in particular to support and develop the work of community-based and voluntary groups in charitable activity which seek to assist such communities; In the interests of social welfare, to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time activities; To encourage, enhance and make visible the involvement, role and position of women in fishing and aquaculture communities and in the fishing and aquaculture industries in Northern Ireland by whatever means thought fit but in particular by the promotion of a network of groups of women from the fishing and aquaculture communities in Northern Ireland for the mutual support and for the support of the fishing and aquaculture industries in Northern Ireland.
