Description
The Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the North Antrim area and its environs of Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to promote, protect and preserve good health, advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for personal, social and emotional development with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: a) To provide education, training, information and advice which promotes good mental and emotional health and wellbeing amongst the public within the area of benefit and raises awareness of mental health issues and associated support services; b) To relieve the conditions of individuals suffering from depression, anxiety and those who are despairing or in emotional distress, by providing, or assisting in the provision, of information and appropriate support and assistance, including counselling and therapeutic services and referral to other agencies and to treatment from professionals; c) To maintain and manage a centre or centres within the area of benefit for activities promoted by the Association.
