Description
The objects of the Charity is to deliver social, economic and educational services in the areas of Rosemount, Ballymagroarty & Hazelbank, Glen Community areas, areas within the Crevagh/Springtown Electoral Wards and associated areas that are or may be defined within the Londonderry Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy (hereinafter called the areas of benefit) and to educate and assist the areas of benefit and the communities therein through the provision of such necessary services as are needed so as to develop their physical and mental emotional capacities so that they may develop as individuals and members of society and so that their conditions of life may be improved, and in particular: (i) to promote capacity building among young people from the area of benefit who are disadvantaged as a result of their social or economic circumstances in an effort to encourage them to develop confidence and self esteem and leadership skills; (ii) to raise awareness among parents of the needs of young children and the value of pre-school education; (iii) to provide educational and recreational facilities out of school hours such as after school clubs, homework clubs and other facilities of that nature in the interest of social welfare; (iv) to provide education in the areas of drug and alcohol awareness to young people and their parents or carers and promote a better understanding of the dangers of substance abuse; (v) to provide education and support to women in the local area by providing womens health clinics and support services; (vi) the provision of such other educational and support services as can be sustained for the long-term benefit of the communities.
