Description
The companys objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of education, the promotion of the arts and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants (hereinafter called the beneficiaries) of Northern Ireland and the Greater Belfast area and its environs in particular but not exclusively (hereinafter called the area of benefit) without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability/ability, race, ethnic origin, political, religious or other opinion by associating the statutory and local authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreational, educational and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular (a) to establish or secure the establishment of a community centre (hereinafter called the Centre) and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the company in furtherance of the above objects, (b) to advance the education of the public in the enjoyment of, and participation in, the arts, and in particular the art of music (audio and visual), speech and photography through the provision of facilities, equipment, training, classes, seminars, workshops and discussions, (c) to promote or assist in promoting capacity building programmes and projects for the benefit of the inhabitants within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity, or social or economic circumstances, in an effort to increase the abilities, skills, self-esteem and self-confidence of such communities in the area of benefit, (d) to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical or natural environment, (e) to advance any other exclusively charitable purposes as the directors may, from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity.
