1. To advance the education of adults and young people in the areas of the Verbal Arts and to enable them to engage and participate in all aspects of the creation and appreciation of the Verbal Arts (in English, Irish, Ulster-Scots and/or languages, together with the promotion of wide understanding of all aspects of their attendant cultures) and in associated creative and imaginative activities 2.
