Description
To promote the benefits of the inhabitants of the townlands of Aughrafin, Ballydoo, Ballymacully, Bracknagh, Cullenttraugh, Drumgar, Elm Park, Knockaneagh, Lisagalley, Naul, Polnagh and Tannagh and their environs by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of the social welfare, education, recreation or other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. To promote and provide education in the Ulster Scots music and culture and other indiginous traditions and culture. In particular the Association will: a) advance through education the skills and knowledge of the inhabitants of the area of benefit. b) facilitate the greater involvement of marginalised sections of the community, in particular women and girls, farm families, the disabled and the elderly in the life of the community. c) promote awareness of the history, folklore and cultural heritage of the area. d) encourage acceptance, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity of the area of benefit.
