Description
The Company is established for the promotion of urban and rural regeneration for the benefit of the public in areas of social and economic deprivation in the local government district of Strabane and vicinity thereof (hereinafter called the area of benefit) by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations, businesses and the inhabitants in a common effort to relieve poverty, relieve economic deprivation and promote social inclusion and reconciliation and in particular: (a) to provide funding and associated advice to support projects and programmes of organisations working for the benefit of the community including the maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities and the provision of recreational facilities for the public at large; (b) To support the needs of deprived neighbourhoods and communities in the area of benefit by providing grants and advice to organisations or groups to support projects which improve the community; (c) Promoting or assisting in the promotion of community capacity building so as to develop the capacity and skills of voluntary and community groups so that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society;
