Description

The charity will remain non-political in its agenda and non-sectarian in its practice. The principles and objects for which the society is established are: (1) To promote and preserve the distinct culture and identity of The Ulster British in all their rich and varied forms embracing the language, drama, music, symbolism, folk custom and History. (2) To provide a service of education for any group, individual or body corporate that wishes to gain an understanding of this distinct culture, thus furthering the ethos of a pluralist, and peaceful society where diversity is valued. (3) To explore, research and display in an inclusive manner, the diverse ways in which the Ulster British community has expressed its cultural values via the Loyal Orders and by its collective tradition of service to the crown in such bodies as: The Ulster Special Constabulary: The Royal Ulster Constabulary, The Ulster Defence regiment, and the Crown forces in general. Also to explore and display the history and importance of Ulster's Solemn League and Covenant and it's social corollary - The Ulster Volunteer Form (1912) - within the context of their core values and ideas to contemporary Ulster British culture.
